Plus the following evaluations:
- Bandmasters, choir leaders, cabin counselors, Worship Praise Team leaders.
- · Extend of participation in overall camp program to be considered (i.e. solo performance, talent night, recreation)
- Previous Honour Students are eligible for selection.
- Committee has the option not to select an Honour Student in any given year.
- An Honour Student may return to camp and participate fully in the camp program; he/she will be eligible for any awards.
- The Senior Honour Student will have the entrance fee to the Territorial School of Music & Gospel Arts (Jackson’s Point, Ontario) paid by D.H.Q.
- The student will receive the Glen Gould Memorial Scholarship provided by T.H.Q. towards travel cost and have the balance of the cost of return economy air fare to Toronto paid by D.H.Q.
- The student will receive the monetary contributions only if he/she attends the National School of Music in the year following the selection.
- The Senior Honour Student receives the Gordon Woodland Memorial Award which consists of a keeper’s trophy and a trophy to be placed at the winner’s home Corps for one year. This award was placed in 1977 by the Woodland family in memory of father, and husband, who was former C.S.M. of the St. John’s Temple Corps.
- The Junior Honour Student will have the entrance fee to the Divisional Camp at Camp Starrigan paid for the year following the selection.
- The Junior Honour Student receives the Norman Chaytor Award which consists of a keeper’s trophy and a trophy to be placed at the winner’s home Corps for one year.
This award was placed in 1992 by the Chaytor family. Norman Chaytor was interested and involved in Camp Starrigan since its inception.
N.B. Students from Corps outside the Division will not be considered for awards and will be
advised of this policy when accepted for camp.
